Tour du Mont Blanc by bike....

The cyclists Tour du Mont Blanc is becoming a 'must do' along with such mythical events as the Etape du Tour and the Marmotte. Starting in the heart of the Alps, Chamonix Mont-Blanc, and passing through France, Switzerland and Italy;covering 360km, around 9000M of climbing, over 7 major mountain passes. Western Europe's highest peak Mont Blanc (4810M) is never far from sight.

The Tour du Mont Blanc can be offered to a bespoke group as well as joining one of our scheduled dates. As with all our Tours, our focus is small groups, maximising our level of service and support, and limited to 8 riders.

Tour du Mont Blanc Outline Schedule

Day 1 Aim to arrive at Geneve International Airport to meet our 11.00 inclusive private transfer for the short drive to Chamonix. We'll assemble the bikes (pro-bike mechanic assistance available) and may have time for a short shake down ride before dinner.

Day 2 We depart Chamonix for the steady ride over the Col des Montets (1461m) and descending into our second country of the day, Switzerland. Once over the border we recommence the climb up to the Col de la Forclaz (1527M), and onto the sweeping descent to Martigny (503M). The final climb of the day is up to the pretty little village of Champex du Lac (1470M). Just over 56km covered.

Day 3 Starting this 98km day with a descent, it's an opportunity to spin out your legs before we start the main climb of the day, the Grand St Bernard pass (2460M). The top section is spectacular and we descend into our third country, Italy. into the Aosta valley (600M) we re-charge on an espresso before the steady climb up to Pre St Didier (1020M) where we overnight.

Day 4 We are straight onto the gentle switchbacks of the Petit St Bernard pass, climbing through the ski resort of La Thuille and onto the summit at 2188M where we can have one last Italian coffee before we descend back into France and down to Bour St Maurice (820M). Here we turn right and immediately start onto the Cormet de Roseland (1967M) featured 9 times in the Tour de France. Descending down to 745M and overnight in Beaufort we've completed 96KM.

Day 5 After a gentle warm up, this 80KM day takes us onto the Col des Saisies (1633M), another Tour de France regular, before descending to Megeve, and down into the Sallanches valley (563M) before the final last gentle climb back up to Chamonix (1050M) to complete the circuit.
