Cycling the Tour du Mont Blanc - 2 or more days riding the epic Mont Blanc circuit

Tour du Mont Blanc - a 330km ride over 7 major alpine cols climbing a total 8800M around Europe's highest peak

Ability level - Strong riders: 2 days, or more leisurely pace over 3 or 4 days.

The cyclists Tour du Mont Blanc is quickly becoming one of the epic rides through the Alps and a 'must do'. We circuit Western Europes highest peak Mont Blanc (4810M).

Very strong riders complete the ride in a day in the annual gran fondo. We tend to tailor the tour to 2 days upwards, usually in a leisurely paced 3 or 4 days cycling.

Outline based on 4 riding days

Day 1. Arrive Geneva International airport where we will meet you and transfer you to your accommodation in the Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley. Build the bikes and maybe take a short shakedown ride before dinner.

Day 2. We leave Chamonix and ride over the Col des Montets, Col de la Forclaz and Champex du Lac

Day 3. Riding from Champex du Lac joining the Grand St Bernard pass and into Italy and descend into the Aosta Valley for the gentle climb up to Courmayeur.

Day 4. From Courmayeur we take on the Petit St Bernard pass  where some of the original 'Italian Job' was filmed. At the summit we cross back into France and descend to Bourg St Maurice and join the climb of the Cormet de Roseland and down to Beaufort, the home of Reblochon cheese, for our overnight stay.

Day 5. The final big Col, the Col des Saisies is for breakfast before dropping down through Megeve and then gently winding our way back up to Chamonix where you can either take the airport transfers to Geneva for the final flights of the evening or stay a further night in Chamonix
