Ride possibly the toughest Granfondo in Europe, the Marmotte Granfondo Alpes.

I've crossed the finish line of the Marmotte Granfondo Alps each of the four times I've taken on the challenge—my fastest ride of 7hrs 20 mins in 2017 to nearly 9 hours in 2011.

La Marmotte is likely the world's toughest one-day Granfondo, taking in 175km's and 5000M of climbing, finishing at the  summit of the legendary Alpe D'Huez, having climbed the Col du Glandon, Col de la Telegraphe, and the Col du Galibier.

Before Covid, the event would sell out within 48 hours, and like all these endurance challenges it's essential to plan early. Limited to a maximum of 7500 riders Compare that to the 2022 Etape du Tour which had a start list of 16,000 riders.
